Brigade searches for new home

For more than 20 years the Lakes Entrance Fire Brigade has been pushing to relocate its station to a more appropriate area where there is room to store its equipment and vehicles.
At the moment, some trucks are having to be stored off site which is not a practical solution.
A piece of East Gippsland Shire land has been identified as an  ideal site and the CFA has the backing of the shire to make the land available.
Last Wednesday CFA Chief Officer, Jason Heffernan, along with Deputy Chief Officer South East Region, Trevor Owen, visited the Lakes Entrance CFA and inspected the site near the old Tambo Shire offices.
“We had the opportunity to show them where the station is located now and the problems with crowding,” captain of the Lakes Entrance Brigade, Phil Loukes, said.
