New businesses promote growth

New businesses are starting to pop up along the Esplanade and in Myer Street, giving a promising sign that Lakes Entrance’s commercial area is heading in the right direction.
Gippsland Bakehouse, opposite Sodafish, opened its doors last Monday and already has had many local residents coming in showing support.
“The response has been very positive, we have local staff and are using local products where possible, including Gippsland Jersey milk,” manager Jessica Theodore said.
The owners are Michael Kelly and Stacey Gibbons, of Metung, who also have a bakehouse operating in Bairnsdale.
“This business compliments that with all products being baked at that store and brought down daily. The shop is positioned nicely in the sunny end of town,” Jess said.
