Lighting up in Lakes

The Lakes Entrance lantern  parade, market and food van festival was once again a huge  success last Saturday.
The East Gippsland Winter Festival event has taken on an important role in the community and is a celebration of not only winter, but the environment we live in.
“It was a fantastic success, it is a good event for the town, shops and businesses,” chairperson of the LEADA Events committee, Alison Brewer, said.
“There were so many school  children with the lanterns they had made at school, plus all those who had turned up to the lantern making community workshops.”
LEADA also had a stall so people could purchase a lantern or glow products and this proved popular, with all proceeds going to the New Year’s Eve fireworks.
