Safe on the water

Safe on the water

The heatwave that hit most of Victoria, including East Gippsland, on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day saw many head for the beaches, lakes and rivers to cool off.
The warm weather prompted Life Saving Victoria and Victoria Police to urge holidaymakers to play it safe by the water.
At Lakes Entrance, the local Surf Life Saving Club extended its patrols to 8pm on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
