Cunninghame Arm Medical Centre, Lakes Entrance, has won the 2021 Eastern Victoria GP Training Award for Rural Training Practice of the Year.
The medical centre, along with its Bairnsdale branch clinic, Dr Jane’s Place, have devoted more than 25 years to training registrars in the community.
Training future general practitioners is considered a core activity of the practice and not an add-on to normal practice undertakings.
Registrars quickly become valued members of the team where everyone works together to create a supported learning environment.
Supervising doctors Dr David Campbell, Dr Ian Broom, Dr Mina Tadrous and Dr Jane Greacen deliver both clinical and professional supervision as well as social and emotional support.
