Cr Allen enjoying the challenge

It has been just more than a year since Arthur Allen was elected to the East Gippsland Shire Council and he is justifiably proud of all the hard work that has been put in over the past 12 months.
When Arthur agreed to stand for election, after many requests from the Lakes Entrance community, his main stance was to improve the planning area of the Shire.
“The planning department had a terrible reputation, my platform was not a ‘can’t do, but a can do council’,” Cr Allen said.
“These things cannot be changed overnight, it is a long process, but the appointment of Martin Richardson as manager of planning has made a huge difference.”
Cr Allen said across all industries it is hard to recruit the right people for the job.
