Walk through history

Upgrades to a walking trail, which recognises Aboriginal culture, have been completed at Nowa Nowa.
The Boggy Creek Walking Trail was recently the recipient of a $250,000 grant from the Victorian Government aimed at recognising Aboriginal culture and aiming to increase visitors to the region.
Regional Development Victoria, Parks Victoria and the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC) worked together to upgrade the popular walking track in the town.
The 1.2-kilometre trail features a lookout over the creek gorge, with Aboriginal cultural markers throughout.
The trail was created by GLaWAC landscape designer, Alfie Hudson, who said the project fulfilled obligations to care for Country and “to share our culture with the broader community”.
