Lakes Entrance will come alive on Saturday night for the Lakes Lights Festival and Lantern Parade.
The foreshore will be alight with the winter wonders as part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival.
The Festival and Lantern Parade have created huge community interest with lantern making workshops held over the past weekends enjoying large numbers of enthusiastic creators.
“Workshops have been held in local schools and community halls for many weeks now, so we’re expecting a brilliant walk,” organiser Andrea Lane said.
The parade will make an amazing viewing spectacle as participants gather at 5pm at the footbridge to begin their walk across Cunninghame Arm.
They will follow a unicycling lantern juggler to discover an artist made light show of sculptures and projections set among the shores of the lake’s edge, adjacent to the Lakes Entrance Surf Club.
There will be a Welcome to Country and a very special choir performance, formed for this occasion.
